Introduction
The ART Motorsports Racing School is the only formal driver training
course recognized by both the Hong Kong Automobile Association
(HKAA) and the Associação Geral Automóvel Macau-China (AAMC). The
organization of a monthly course continues to be popular among the
young and elder alike from students to corporate decision-makers
with all course slots filled-up in no time. At certain times, the
need to organize more than one course a month to accommodate the
applicants on short-list comes of no surprise. Training is available
on the basic up to the advanced level and is conducted either on a
one- or two-day course. In the past 5 years more than one hundred of
racing drivers ‘wanabees’ had opportunity to learn in ART classes.
Applications are open to male and female drivers at least 16 years
old. Introductory courses will familiarize students with a
fundamental understanding of the Formula Renault 2.0 and upon
graduation will be able to return and participate in open practice
sessions. Typical courses will cover the following topics:
- Codes of conducting; circuit rules, regulations and race wear.
Technical de-briefing
- Formula Renault 2-seaters demonstrations
- Braking, throttle, acceleration, RPM control, steering
- Entry, exiting, lapping
- All 2 day courses are fully serviced (including accommodation and
meals)
