Dancing in the rain
2008.03.31
The
three highly-acclaimed ART Motorsports Racing School of the year was
organized in partnership with The Lotus Club of Hong Kong on the
31st of March. Apart from the pouring rain, the 1-Day Basic Course
was rated success by the participants and the team.
The track conditions were tricky but the expert driving tips
methodologies of single seaters aces Philippe Descombes and Rodolfo
Avila were actually followed rigorously and meticulously by all the
participants and the course finished without a single accident to
report.
Rolling out the batch of successful course finishers were Anthony
Chan, Nick Fok Siu Kou, Eric Law, Alan Law, So Yiu Ming, Stanley
Lee, Karajan Kwok and Albert Liu. Private ART Motorsports car owners
and The Lotus Club of Hong Kong members Stephen Fan and Michael Wong
had opportunity to lap with the group and gain those extremely
valuable wet experiences.
The daily torrential rain storm hit the track in the end of the day,
which meant the ART Motorsports Team Manager had to stop the Racing
School on the final stages due to safety reasons. To compensate the
participants, ART Motorsports gave to all of them one voucher with
one Open Practice Session with the team that can be used until the
end of the year.
"The planning, organization and execution of the course was
second to none", held the Director of The Lotus Club of Hong
Kong Ltd Stephen Fan on
www.lotusclubhk.org.
Commenting on the course, ART Motorsports Team Manager Philippe
Descombes said: "It is a real shame we had rain again! Despite
the group reacted very well to the wet conditions, I hope they will
come back for some dry sessions. Then they will be able to
understand the real potential of the car…"
The ART Motorsports Racing School is recognized by both the Hong
Kong Automobile Association (HKAA) and the Associação Geral
Automóvel Macau-China (AAMC) and is supported by Michelin tyres and
Motul lubricants.
The next two-day basic course is tentatively being set before
August, depending on Zhuhai circuit availability.
