Macau youngster Vernice Lao Si Lun will join Asia Racing Team RFN as the F4 Chinese Championship heads to its fourth round at the twisting, 19-turn, 3.265 km FIA Grade 2 Chengdu Tianfu International Circuit, from 28-30 August.
Vernice Lao is not new to Asia Racing Team RFN, the F4 Chinese Championship or the Chengdu Tianfu International Circuit, as the sixteen-year-old karting driver made her single-seater debut at this same race last year. On her first race weekend in a single-seater car, Vernice Lao took her Ligier JS F422 to a best overall finish of P13. It was a historic first, as the Automobile General Association Macao-China (AAMC) development driver became the first female driver from Macau to compete in F4.

Speaking ahead of her single-seater return, Vernice Lao said: “I am looking forward returning to F4, as I’m pushing for better results. In Chengdu I want consistent progress every session, learn from setbacks and build experience. The main hurdle is regaining my car feel and rhythm after time away, while staying physically sharp and focused. I’m ready to enjoy the race weekend and fight for good results together with my team.”
Team Manager Rodolfo Ávila added: “We are really happy to partner again with AAMC and welcome back Vernice. She is one of the growing talents of Macau and we are happy to be on her side as she does the first steps in formula car racing. She has relatively limited experience, and will face opposition with far greater testing mileage and race craft, but our focus isn’t on results, it’s on the development curve.”

The Macau driver will line up alongside race winners Timur Shagaliev and Josh Feng, as well as podium finisher Zhuyuan Chen, on a four-car entry under the Asia Racing Team RFN and Blackjack Racing RFN banner.
The F4 Chinese Championship weekend programme includes two qualifying sessions on Friday, two races on Saturday and two further races on Sunday.
