The 2024 F4 Chinese Championship returns this weekend for the fourth round of the season, with Blackjack Racing and Asia Racing Team joining forces to enter three cars at the Shanghai International Circuit.
Pingtan Raxing Team by Blackjack driver and title contender Albert Jiang Fukang will line up alongside two other familiar faces from Blackjack Racing: Allen Lu and Fu Zhenjiang.
Jack Pang, Team Principal, said: “It’s exciting to return to the Shanghai F1 circuit for China F4. We had tremendous success during this year’s F1 support round, and after speaking with the drivers, it’s clear they’re all eager to get back on track and achieve the results they deserve. I’m looking forward to a thrilling, action-packed race weekend!”
During the first visit to the only FIA Grade I circuit for the season opener, Pingtan Raxing Team by Blackjack claimed victories in both races. Vietnam’s Alex Sawer emerged victorious on Saturday, while Albert Jiang secured the win on Sunday, showcasing the team’s strength across the weekend’s event, which coincided with the highly anticipated return of the Chinese Formula One Grand Prix.
After gaining initial experience with the new Mygale M21-F4 car in Chengdu and Ningbo, Allen Lu is still mastering the nuances of the French-made car. As a podium finisher in the Challenger class, the Pingtan Raxing Team by ART is focused on improving his pace and successfully completing all four races this weekend.
For Fu Zhenjiang, this will be his first race weekend with the new Mygale M21-F4, a car he had the chance to test previously in Ningbo. Entered by Pingtan Raxing Team by Blackjack, Fu Zhenjiang will continue working on adapting to the car, keeping an eye on the Challenger class podium, as he knows the Shanghai circuit well and has been competitive there before.
After ten races this season, Albert Jiang lies third in the Drivers’ standings, while Pingtan Raxing Team by Blackjack is also third in the Teams’ standings.
This weekend in Shanghai will feature a four-race format, with qualifying sessions on Friday, followed by two races on Saturday and two more on Sunday.
